i had to google “meme”.

THE RULES:
** Post about the meme and link back to the person that tagged you.

** Go back to your archives and link to your five favorite posts.

ohchicken tagged me, which makes me feel popular… but pressured to be clever!

okay, i haven’t been blogging for very long… but i’ll give this a shot.

Link One: must be about family
Link Two: must be about friends
Link Three: must be about yourself
Link Four: must be about something you love
Link Five: can be anything you choose

** Tag five other people (at least two must be new acquaintances so that you can get to know them better).

1. i love this post about our night with annie — it’s very us.
2. i remember that when i wrote this post, i mentioned a few friends in passing.  re-reading it, it makes me feel good, these references to our life here.  it’s a life we created all on our own, and it’s been anything but easy!
3. this whole blog is about myself!  but this recent post was painfully honest, and i got some really loving feedback.
4. this post is about two things i love — books and this pregnancy!
5. i think i’ll link to this pic for number five, in honor of rog.er clem.ens looking like a total crazy at the hearing today!  i don’t think i’ll get into it right now, but those steroids have maybe made him nuts.

call me a bibliophile but…

i love this kind of thing: the new york times just published what they’re calling the top ten books of 2007.  i almost never read books when they’re in hardcover, mostly because i love to buy books, rather than go t the library or even borrow.  few things make me happier than looking at my bookshelves!  point being, i haven’t read any of these books  but some of them look pretty interesting.

quick - how big is a turnip?

d is not the bare-my-belly-for-photo-documentation type, nor am i the type to post pics of my wife’s growing body.  i will say, however, that her pooch is big enough for ourdaugtherthedog to cuddle.  she wraps around with her head on top and her paws kind of hugging around.  and we squeal “she’s cuddling the baby!!!”  like the nutty dog-lovers that we are.

fun for book lovers

found this on another blog, and loved it!  for those who don’t know me, books are just about my favorite thing in the world.  i think the most relaxing thing i can do is to go into a bookstore and stroll the fiction aisles, admiring the alphabetical order.  so calming.  as i go through the list, an interesting pattern emerges: there are no books i started and didn’t finish, because i can’t bear to not finish a book.  the only two i couldn’t stand were by ayn rand!  oh, and one that when i think about it, reminds me of her.  anyway, here’s the activity:

Bold what you have read, italicize those you started but couldn’t finish, and strike through what you couldn’t stand. Add an asterisk to those you’ve read more than once. Underline those on your to-read list. ? for can’t remember if I ever tried to read it or not.
