post-election slump

i couldn’t wait for the election – so sick of hearing spalin’s voice, so sick of the campaign commercials – but now we miss it a little bit.  i think i would feel different if california hadn’t broken my heart.  of course there’s arizona and florida and arkansas too, but i feel most betrayed by california (read here if you’re not up to speed on whose rights are being restricted).  i can’t believe how many people’s marriages will basically be taken away.  i am trying take heart in this sentiment:

“We all know that our marriages did not begin with a court decision and they will not end with a vote on a discriminatory amendment” – Joe Solmonese, President of the Human Rights Campaign.

it is just so painful.

in other news, nate is getting really good at peek-a-boo.  tonight i put him on the changing table and put his pajamas next to him, to put on after stripping him down.  he rolled over and grabbed them and pulled them over his face, then screamed in delight when i started in on the silly “where’s nate???!!!”  and he found me when i put something over my face!  these tiny little steps are so fascinating and exciting.

i’m all over the place.  and now off to bed!

  1. I feel like I have hours of free time on my hands now that I’m not obsessively watching CNN election coverage.

I wish Jack and Nate could play a game of peek-a-boo together. Jack still loves playikng.
