friday night

i just haven’t felt like blogging the last few days!  we got back from our little vacation on tuesday, and are settling back in, it feels like this was really the end of the holidays for us.

we had so much fun on our little trip.  we’ve made it a winter tradition to kick d’s parents out of their beach house for a week or so in january, and our brood was a bit bigger this year.  of course we had nate, but then we also brought one of our (3) cats, whose ear is infected and puffy.  we have to give him meds and also drain it (good thing i can steal supplies from work).

the best hour of the best day:

104 by you.

103 by you.

beach, coffee, baby on my back.  three of my favorite things in the world!  along with…

110 by you.

you can kind of see how hard it was for annie to stay still long enough to pose with d.  so cute.  she (annie) ran and ran and ran, and she always barks at the ocean while attempting to herd us away from the water.

i got into work on wednesday morning to some interesting news: my work has been affected by the financial crisis blah blah blah, and they’re not laying people off — instead, they’re making budget changes.  they’re pretty bad ones, including getting rid of tuition reimbursement.  but that one in particular is sort of a blessing in disguise.  i’ve been torturing myself – and friends and family – about whether to go back to school part time, having work pay for it, or full time, biting the bullet and taking out loans.  i was leaning toward the latter, but this change in benefits totally makes the decision for me.  so in this weird way, when my boss told us, i was excited.  so there’s that, and i’m feeling optimistic about june, which is when the summer semester starts.  yikes.

i leave you with the cutest picture of our friend mattea and her best friends, sophie and binky:

mattea and soph by you.

  1. Adorable pictures! I love that your dog is being so protective of you folks at the beach.

Sometimes the cards that your dealt can be such a blessing. It seems like a
fairly good sign that you should put school (and that added layer of stress) on
the back burner for a bit.

  2. Cute photos. We have the same seafoam green and black Ergo.
